Onwards and Upwards!

I am having a little trouble moving past the Notre Dame game. I have already expressed my feelings on the situation and the time has come to move past the situation. There is nothing worse than some sad, drunken, hopeless suckers who can't move past their team's loss (Red Sox fans I'm looking in your direction). With this in mind, it is time to move on to the mighty Penguins of Youngstown State.

The Penguins are nothing to laugh at my friends, their smallest margin of victory was 20 points. YSU is also the returning Gateway conference champs (I've never heard of it either). However, if you don't think that this game is the Super Bowl for YSU than I think you are sorely mistaken (their other opponents include: Slippery Rock, Maine, UC Davis, Missouri State, Indiana State, Western Illinois, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky (they play almost every possible team in Illinois!))

The Penguins average 182.5 yds/game passing and 189 yds/game rushing. Mason Marcus is their main rushing threat, he is responsible for 55 % of their rushing yds and 28% of their total offense. T.J. Peterson is really the main man as far as WRs go, he has averaged over 78 yds per game and has accounted for 43% of all receiving yards. So, there are still offensive threats that the Penguins can utilize.

The YSU defense has given up no more than 21 pts in a game and averages giving up only 17.5 pts/game. Not too shabby!

All in all the Penguins seem like a fine AA team but will be outclassed when put on the same field as the Lions. This will be an important game to for PSU to flex their muscle on offense and defense and to reestablish a swagger before traveling to Columbus.

GO STATE!! BEAT THE PENGUINS!
