James Pursley, apparently a past football player, has filed a mighty lawsuit against the university for...........$28 (and attorney's fees, DAMNED ATTORNEYS!). Or, so reports the CDT! All of this arose when PSU declined his requested inscription for a brick on the Alumni Walk outside the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The sticking point is that Pursley wanted a biblical reference “Joshua 24:15.” put on the bottom of his brick. Which, if you are wondering, reads:But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
Before you get too worked up, let me say this: this is dumb. The University should probably just let it go and let the man have his brick. However, I would really rather have a brick which read:
