Kirk Ferentz Rumors

My afternoon got a huge jolt when I read that Kirk Ferentz was seen at the Lasch Building this afternoon. I initially heard this over at BHGP. However, FOS has a story which seems to throw a bucket of ice water on the flames of intrigue. FOS explains his visit thusly:
The Hawkeyes intend to upgrade their indoor practice facility in the near future, and apparently liked what they saw when given an opportunity to practice in Holuba Hall before the PSU-Iowa game last fall. Currently, Iowa uses a 23-year-old bubble style indoor practice facility.

Well, yeah, that is a perfectly reasonable explanation. Which, to me, is fantastic news. Ferentz isn't exactly at the top of anyone's wish list of Paterno-replacements.

Inside PSU's Practice

I didn't find this, and it is to my eternal shame, but there is some awesome video of PSU's spring practice up at GOPSF.com. (HT: Swindle @ EDSBS). Or, you can watch if for yourself right here.

It also confirms that Joe is a fiery golden god of coaching. I've said it before and I'll say it again: PSU needs to let Joe coach for as long as he wants to! Also, you can watch Green rip off a huge run. He is going to be an impact player in the fall, write it down.

On an unrelated note, TNL is reporting that Rich-fucking-Kotite is going to be thea next head coach of the Nittany Lions. Sounds horrifyingly accurate? Consider what day it is, son! April first. Yeah. That is how much stock you should put in this!

Quarless and Harriott are BACK!

The rumor floating around is that Quarless and Harriott are both back at practice this week after the team voted to reinstate them. BWI confirms these reports.
BWI was told that Quarless' father and Harriott's parents were on campus this weekend and had a sit down with Penn State head football coach, Joe Paterno, and the three named captains (Morelli, Golden and Connor)in the Lasch Building this weekend. It was determined that the team would vote whether to readmit both Quarless and Harriott to the team.

BWI wasn't given the results of that vote but we were contacted earlier this morning and told that Quarless and Harriott will be allowed to participate in practice today. So, that seems to confirm to us that the team voted to have both players return to the team.

This is great news. Not so much for Quarless and Harriott as I presume that Joe is making them miserable but this is great news for PSU fans and for the team in general.

Lets hope the rest of the off-season passes quietly.
