SI's Crystal Ball

SI.com released some early, extremely early, power rankings for the '07 season. Our beloved Lions emerged at #15.
Penn State Nittany Lions (9-4)
Who's back: QB Anthony Morelli, WR Derrick Williams, LBs Dan Connor and Sean Lee.
Who's not: RB Tony Hunt, DE Tim Shaw, DT Jay Alford, LB Paul Posluszny.
Skinny: Morelli looks to build on his big Outback Bowl performance. Finding a capable replacement for 1,300-yard rusher Hunt will be priority No. 1.
Apparently, it isn't just the blue/white faithful who are planning on Morelli building on a great performance to end the season. What is missing? I'd say commentary on PSU's secondary. Anchored by Justin King, the secondary has had some solid performances. Most notably, when J-King shut down Ted Ginn and then Meachem. Two solid WRs. That is really my only gripe.

Other notables are Michigan at #6, Wisconsin at #7, t(urd)OSU at #9.

As an update on the McCoy saga, his coach is confirming and BWI is reporting that he has chosen Pitt. What a waste.

GO STATE! BUILD EXPECTATIONS!
