Penn State seems to have had another excellent year recruiting big talent to Happy Valley. The complete commitment list can be found here. I'll be talking about a few of the guys I'm excited to see in the blue and white.
I'll start with two kids who, Fight on State is reporting, will attend spring classes at Penn State. More importantly, they will have the benefit of both spring and summer practice before next fall.
Nick Sukay
Nick is a solid recruit for PSU, he is projected to be a WR or Safety. He would bring a lot of size to either position (6' 2-3" 189 Lbs). His forty time is 4.49. With PSU recruiting so much talent at Wide Receiver I wouldn't be surprised to see Nick end up as a Safety. Here are some of Nick's Junior year stats for you to crunch:
29 catches for 660 yards and 8 Tds
58 Tackles, 6 Ints., 7 forced fumbles
It is pretty apparent that Nick will be a solid player no matter where Joepa puts him.
John Ditto
John is a startling combination of size and speed and will be a good addition at WR/TE (6' 3" 221 Lbs. and a 4.55 40-time). Nick is tall and fast for his size, after a spring in the weight room it should be fun to see John compete for playing time.
Stats to crunch:
29 catches for 508 yards and 5 TDs
Lastly, I'll takle a gander at another talented recruit at outside linebacker.
Nathan Stupar
Nathan attended State College Area High School (my alma matter), this is important to note because these are the kind of kids you have to recruit to be successful. If you let a talent like Stupar end up at another school you are clearly doing something wrong on the recruiting trail.
Here are some stats on Nathan:
6' 2" 220 Lbs. 4.61 40-time.
58 tackles, 10 sacks, 1 Int.
( he also caught 44 passes for over 600 yds and scored 8 TDs)

State High had a decent season this year - although I only saw bits and pieces of a few games - and highlights - but that Stupar kid was pretty awesome.
I'm all for having local kids on the team, but if PSU is going to continue to be State High North, then I'm glad that some of them have the talent and physicality so they can really contribute.
Speaking of State High alums, I was watching a recording off of ESPN Classic of an old Penn State game. It was funny to McQueary on the sideline carrying a clipboard, like he does now, but in his uniform. Obviously, the game was played before he was a starter.
Put the redheaded kid in!
By the way, I meant to start with "Speaking of fellow State High alums" instead of "Speaking of State High alums."
You probably also meant that it was "funny to see McQueary on the sideline"
It's a very serious thing to McQueary on the sideline - and get an earful from Joe (of course, while he's in the wheelchair, his barkings will be directed a bit lower)
That is a sweet banner.
